Travel Information

Somerville College is close to the historic centre of Oxford and easily accessible by car, coach, rail and bus.

TRAVEL BY CAR

If you wish to drive, Oxford has a Park & Ride service, which drops passengers at the end of Cornmarket, a 6 minute walk from Somerville. If you need to drive into the city, parking is also available on St Giles, within a few minutes' walk of the college. The Gloucester Green, Worcester Street and Broad Street car parks are also a short walk from Somerville.

TRAVEL BY PUBLIC TRANSPORT

Oxford Railway Station is fifteen minutes from Somerville, offering regular trains to London termini and other mainline destinations. You can also take a cab or bus to Oxford Parkway, where you can catch a fast train to London Marylebone every half hour. For coaches to cities throughout the UK as well Heathrow and Gatwick Airports, head to Oxford Bus Station on Gloucester Green, a ten minute walk away.

TRAVEL ON FOOT

Walking around Oxford is very convenient (as well as beneficial for the environment). It takes between 10-20 minutes to walk from all the centrally located public transport termini (Gloucester Green Bus Station, Oxford Train Station, Park & Ride) to Somerville. If travelling via Oxford Parkway, there are regular buses into the town centre, as well as taxis.

The conference is taking place in the Flora Anderson Hall (FAH) and the neighbouring Brittain Williams Room.
